Key Tips

In an attempt to improve the ability to use Cantabile from a PC keyboard, I've added support to SkinLib for key tips. Key tips are like tool tips except they show available key combinations. They're an excellent solution for when there are lots of user-interface elements as they allow multiple character short-cuts.

The following sequence shows how key tips work. After pressing Alt key top level key tips are displayed:

In this case there are two key tips starting with "M", so after pressing "M", all non-matching key tips are removed, and just those starting with "M" displayed:

On pressing "L" (ie: after having typed Alt+M+L), the keytips for the items contained in the Master Levels panel are displayed:

Hi,

Thanks for all your efforts, I check this page often....

Two questions though,

1) Would it be possible to choose which items are shown in the VST window - sometimes a very narrow vst is displayed in a very wide window, just because the toolbar has to fit everything in.

2) Can you offer a beta version "every now and again" for paid customers?

If you are open to suggestions... A preset manager something like Mini-Host would warrant Twice your asking price... If it worked reliably.

Thanks again.

John Golding.
